Coronavirus (COVID-19)

El Reno Public Schools is working closely with the Canadian County Health Department regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). We are taking precautions with our students and staff to help reduce the chance of contamination as directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are constantly monitoring our students and staff for any possible symptoms. Those with fever are sent home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without any medication. Our students and staff are encouraged to wash their hands frequently and hand sanitizer is also available.

We will continue to follow the guidance of the Health Department, both county and state level, the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation and we will monitor updates as it becomes available, in addition to adhering to updated guidance.

Spring Break Travel

The Oklahoma State Department of Health and the Oklahoma State Department of Education are partnering to provide specific guidance regarding Spring Break and other travels for our school families, students and district staff.

Individuals returning from travel to China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan or any other Level 2 or 3 country as identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) should self-quarantine for a period of 14 days before returning to school. This applies to all students and ERPS staff.

The U.S. State Department highly discourages U.S. citizens, particularly travelers with underlying health conditions, from traveling by cruise ship. In order to curb the spread of COVID-19, many countries have implemented strict screening procedures that have denied port entry rights to ships and prevented passengers from disembarking. In some cases, local authorities have permitted disembarkation but subjected passengers to local quarantine procedures.

If you are traveling out of the country, we ask that you fill out this travel form in an effort to comply with health officials.
