Hillcrest Elementary School opened its doors in 1952. In 1961, the first portable steel classroom was constructed at Hillcrest to accommodate the rapidly increasing enrollment. At least four additions have been made to the school to bring it to its current layout. In 2014, a new office entryway was added to the school building. Hillcrest became the Pre-K and K grade center in the 2008-2009 school year.
